Kia ora

Shontelle here, a Pet Sitter in Hobsonville for nine years, where I have been incredibly fortunate to have had whānau welcome me into their homes to care for their fur, fin, and winged pets.
Experience
I have lived experience with animals, having been raised in the Bay of Islands on my whānau farm and working on behalf of the SPCA for 10+ years, exposing me to a range of behaviours & temperaments. I have experience with senior pets (a soft spot of mine) and administering medications. I am comfortable around all farm and domestic animals of all shapes and sizes. For any exotic pets that I'm not yet familiar with, I'm always more than happy to discuss and meet with you both to ensure suitability for them and me.
Service
As a pet owner, I provide a service to others I (being very particular and of high expectations) would want for my pets in my absence. I know how stressful it can be when you must go away and can't always take your pet/s with you. Or that horrible feeling of inconveniencing whānau and friends yet again. All of my services have me come to you. Making it an easy transition for your pet by offering someone reliable & local while allowing your pet to remain in their home with all the familiar smells and comforts they're accustomed to. Making your absence a calming experience for you both.
Qualifications
I have my Certificate in Animal Care & Pet First Aid, with a goal to obtain the New Zealand Certificate in Animal Management - Canine Behaviour and Training. I will update my profile as these are acquired.
Volunteering & Advocacy
I have volunteered with the amazing team at Angel Groomers in Massey and am a proactive member and supporter of the "Animal Justice Party," "Pet Refuge" and the "SPCA."
So, if you are heading away for a night or a few weeks, require someone to administer medications to your pet while at work, to pet chauffeur from the groomers, or just a stroll around Hobsonville, "AuPaw" is worth considering. Book in for your free 15min "sniff & greet" and take the stress out of your time away from your pet.
I look forward to welcoming your pets into the "AuPaw" whānau.
